We are hiring for three stipended positions:

  • Bilingual Community Food Advocate (English & Spanish)

  • Bilingual Community Food Advocate (English & Portuguese)

  • Communications Contractor

Bilingual Community Food Advocate (two positions available)

We are seeking two Bilingual Community Food Advocates to connect with residents and help spread awareness about local food programs and opportunities. These are stipended positions, up to 10 hours a week for 8 weeks. The schedule is flexible and evening and weekend availability is preferred.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Share resources in community groups

  • Engage in community outreach

  • Connect with local churches, community groups and doctors’ offices 

  • Expand relationships with neighbors and leaders

  • Track outreach and community feedback

  • Attend community events 

  • Keep food resources updated
     

Supervision

Works under the administrative supervision of the MWFC Manager in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Varied and responsible duties require the exercise of judgment and initiative, particularly in situations not clearly defined by precedent or established procedures.  

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Friendly & outgoing

  • Bilingual English + Portuguese or Spanish

  • Comfortable talking with others and attending community events 

  • Reliable & organized

  • Familiar with the local community

  • Reside in Hudson, Milford or Framingham

  • Access to transportation (personal vehicle, public transportation, bike)  

  • Access to a phone & internet (texting, WhatsApp, social media)  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Personal experience with WIC/SNAP/HIP programs

  • Knowledge of Google Calendar, Google Sheets, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram

  • Access to a computer & internet

 

Job Title: MetroWest Food Collaborative Bilingual Community Food Advocate

Location: Community-based in Framingham, Hudson & Milford   

Stipened:  $20 - $25 per hour (up to 10 hours/week)

Job Type: Part time, Seasonal, Non-union, Non-benefitted, Grant funded

Communications Contractor

We are seeking a Communications Contractor to work with the MetroWest Food Collaborative Manager on increasing visibility and campaign outreach for the MetroWest Food Collaborative. This is a contractor/stipended position, up to 10 hours a week for an agreed upon timeframe. This is a great opportunity for someone who cares about food access within MetroWest and is looking to gain real world experience. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain an existing website for the MWFC using Wix

  • Manage the social media presence for the MWFC (Facebook, Instagram)

  • Update Monthly Food Access Calendars using Google Calendar

  • Compile content for a quarterly newsletter

  • Draft testimony that supports advocacy efforts

  • Develop and share educational materials related to the MWFC

  • Research topics assigned by the MWFC Coordinator and Steering Committee members 

  • Assist with grant writing and reporting

  • Work with the MWFC Manager and Steering Committee members on projects, including, but not limited to planning a legislative breakfast

  • Check in weekly in person or via email, phone or video chat with the MWFC Manager and participate in other meetings, as appropriate

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in communications. Experience in community development, food systems work, or public health a plus 

  • Commitment to advancing equitable access to resources that strengthen the local food system

  • Experience and comfortability with basic website building platforms such as Wix

  • Intermediate or higher-level skill in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Canva, Instagram and Facebook

  • Access to your own phone, computer and internet

  • Bi-lingual in Portuguese or Spanish a plus 

 

Job Title: MetroWest Food Collaborative Communications Contractor

Location: Hybrid

Stipend: $25 - $30 per hour (up to 10 hours/week)

Job Type: Part time, Contractor, Non-union, Non-benefitted, Grant funded
